1998年生まれ、宮城県仙台市出身。東京藝術大学音楽学部作曲科卒業。
市川市文化振興財団第4回即興オーディションにて優秀賞受賞。
東京交響楽団＆サントリーホール「新曲チャレンジ・プロジェクト2023」にて作品採用、2023年12月東京交響楽団により初演。
2024年2月、石川県立音楽堂 和洋の響Ⅳにて「加賀・金沢〜記憶の彼方へ 箏とオーケストラのための」が優秀作品として採用、オーケストラ・アンサンブル金沢により初演される。
2024年5月には群馬交響楽団第598回定期演奏会にて委嘱作品「UTAGE〜宴〜」世界初演。2024年8月には第30回浜松国際管楽器アカデミー＆フェスティヴァル、2024年9月には山形交響楽団にて、委嘱作品の初演が予定されている。
作曲を八島秀、小島佳男、森垣桂一、安良岡章夫、ピアノを下村郁子、庄子みどり、森田英里奈、即興演奏を平野公崇の各氏に師事。ソロからオーケストラまでさまざまな編成で作曲と編曲を手がけ、邦楽トリオの一員としては演奏も行う。
Japanese composer, arranger, and improviser Natsumi Yamamoto was born and raised in Sendai.
As a winner of the "New Composition Project," Yamamoto's composition was performed by the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra at Suntory Hall in December 2023 under the direction of Keitaro Harada.
Yamamoto composes for various genres, including chamber music, orchestra, traditional Japanese instruments, and theatre. Furthermore, she enjoys collaborating with painters, animators, and designers.
She studied composition under Shu Yashima, Yoshio Kojima , Keiichi Morigaki and Akio Yasuraoka; piano under Ikuko Shimomura, Midori Shoji and Erina Morita; improvisation under Masataka Hirano.
